Adapted from the James Michener’s Pullitzer prize-winning novel Tales of the South Pacific, it is based on an island during World War 11. The restless sailors of the Navy are lamenting the absence of women and combat to relieve their boredom, when Lieutenant Joe Cable arrives on the island to take part in a dangerous spy mission that might help turn the tide of the war against the Japanese. Considered to be one of the greatest musicals of all time, telling of a twin love story through song, dance, with favourites such as Bali Ha’I, Younger than Springtime and Some Enchanted Evening.

When a couple are driven to follow their hearts in a rigid society which insists they do otherwise, only tragedy can follow… Lorca’s great play of murder and passion, set in 1920’s Spain, part rural drama, part surreal folk tale, is based on a factual case. Blood Wedding will be Theatrecorp’s third production and it will incorporate their trademark style; visual, visceral and accessible.

Following their sell-out success with Agapé in 2003, Feast of Life in 2004, and Song of Mark in 2006. In the Beginning is a contemporary Christian musical, based on John’s Gospel. This innovative project draws from the rich diversity of Galway life, promising yet again a creative, modern take on familiar themes.
